Possessive Used As Drink [Me]: a lecture on pronouns in the form of 15 sonnets

soundscore

Possessive Used As Drink [Me] is a performance collaboration with writer Anne Carson. The twenty-five-minute performance includes fifteen of Anne's sonnets (spoken live and recorded) with dance performed (on video) by three dancers. I developed the soundscore for the piece based on Anne's vocalizations (spoken and sung) and their expressive layering, with sounds that evoke small physical gestures—the dropping of a coin, the ringing of a bell, animated writing on a chalkboard, and so on.

This video excerpt includes three sonnets.
